I ordered the Pirates Plunder to use with my BioLite camp stove. This Blackbeard fire starter is the best product to use with the BioLite. It burns significantly longer than other fire starters that I have used in the past. It provides ample time to get the BioLite up and running. I wanted a nice kit to bring on a wilderness hunt next month and the Pirates Plunder is perfect. Everything you need in a heavy duty zippered pouch. The inside is equipped with pockets as well as elastic loops to keep everything in place until you need it. The arc lighter is fantastic. The ferro rod works so well that I find myself wanting to use it over the arc lighter. It is just more fun. I have other ferro rods and none of them come close to producing the amount of spark that the Blackbeard ferro rod produces. This fire starter material is amazing. It actually does light very easily and even when wet! Very important when in the wilderness. I highly recommend the Pirates Plunder. Great product and you will not be disappointed with the performance.

Worked first strike!
I have taken this kit on 2 camping trips and have used it solely for fire starting. The time lights very easily when broken down to singly stands and burns long when left as a one inch rope. When a birds nest is made it only takes one or two strikes with the rod and strike to produce a flame and I have also used the included rechargeable lighter for lighting the rope by itself. Every part of this kit is functional and it functions great! I will not be without this kit ever again. I've even had my wife using it and she LOVES making sparks. Great job on this kit guys.
This kit is awesome! Very compact with a lot of fire starter included! Size would compare to one of those “4 hour log fire starters” even though we all know by now that those suck outdoors!

It works in the snow! I recently took a trip to Lytle creek offroad trails and when we found a good day camp spot it was in the snow. I used the starter and the lighter and they worked amazingly! I was impressed with the amount of time a 1 inch slice lasted! We were able to build a fire on top and it stayed lit long enough to dry out the wet wood we collected. It was awesome to see the roaring fire that followed! I just wanted to note that it was a bit tough to cut through. I didn't mind it though because the toughness definately was a contributer to the burn time. I love the product and I can't wait to gift some of these products to my offroading friends this Christmas!
